I work from home, so I don't have any working hours. At first, I woke up late and my days passed very quickly, and I didn't have time to do even a half of my planned work.
Then I decided to try to get up every day at 5 am. I started to do a lot more, but by noon I was feeling wildly tired and just falling asleep at the computer. Through trials and errors, I found my perfect sleep schedule. I go to bed around 11:30 pm and wake up at 7 am. However, sometimes it's still hard to get myself out of bed. And today I would like to share with you some tips on how I get up in the morning.
Take a walk before going to bed
I usually walk for about an hour before going to bed. It helps me to relax and re-think the day’s information. Usually with my boyfriend/ business partner we discuss what we have done for our project today and what we will do tomorrow.
Before going to bed, you should formulate your intentions for tomorrow
Every day helps you get closer to your dreams. You have to understand why you have to wake up and do a task. You should clearly know how today’s action will lead you to accomplish your goal.
Fall asleep hungry
I have dinner at about 7 p.m. and at 11 p.m. I usually feel a little hungry. So in the evening I start dreaming about tomorrow's breakfast: what kind of tea I will drink, what kind of sandwich I will eat, what kind of muffin I will buy in the shop in the morning. Personally, the food motivates me very much and I am already looking forward to the next day. Does it works for you?
Sleep with open window shutters/curtains
Before I moved to France, I always slept with the curtains open. Here the French almost always close all their window shutters and sleep in total darkness. I have also become accustomed to this habit. But the problem is that it is not easy to get up when it is dark in a room. Now I only sleep with the shutters open, and if the weather allows me with the windows open too.
Put the alarm clock away from the sleeping place
To turn off the alarm clock, you must get out of bed. This will make it harder to snooze and go back to sleep.

Change the alarm sound to a more pleasant one
I used to have a song by my favorite singer Ed Sheeran - Drunk on my alarm clock. Then all the music on my phone went away and for a very long time I had a standard annoying iPhone tune. But recently I discovered the Bedtime feature in the Clock app. There you can set up time you want fall asleep and wake up. During the hours when you sleep, the iPhone silences all notifications, and at the hour of waking it will play a nice melody.
If it's dark outside, turn on the lights
To wake up faster, your room should be lit up. I have a special alarm clock by Phillips that simulates sunrise. It illuminates the room with bright light when it’s time to wake up. It’s the only way to get me out of my bed in the winter. If you don't want to buy the same one, you can just turn on the lights. It’s also very great because you will need to stand up to turn it on.
Admit that it will be hard to get up
If you have to get up really early, then you have to admit to yourself that it will not be easy to get up. When you are mentally prepared for something not so positive, get out of bed will be easier. Just remember why you get up so early and how much benefits it will bring you.
Do some exercise
I don't like to do sports. The only sport I enjoy is swimming. But I can't go to the pool in the morning. That's why every morning I do 10 minute exercise. I found my morning sport routine on YouTube. For me, the most important thing is the music in the background during exercises. It should be fast and dynamic. I do this exercises, but it's in Russian. You can choose what you like best: stretching, yoga, aerobic, pilates etc.
Drink a glass of water at room temperature (preferably with lemon and honey)
This is a very healthy habit, which at the same time awakens you. Water on an empty stomach helps to cleanse the body, lose weight, increase energy and restore. You can even loose some weight if you will drink water before your breakfast.
Eat a tasty breakfast
Probably the healthiest breakfast is oatmeal. But I don't like it. Therefore, for breakfast I prefer to eat sandwiches with butter and ham . I know that the breakfast is not very good for my health, but it is so delicious! Treat yourself in the morning. This will improve your mood and set you up for a productive day.

Make a list of things you need to do
The secret of my productive day and good mood is to-do lists. I make them every day. Every evening I’m very excited to see ticks in front of each case. Don't forget to take this simple step every morning. This will help you to organize your day accurately and correctly. Also it will motivate you to finish all your tasks for today.
There are lots of reasons to wake up early. You will be more productive, healthier, more successful and less stressful. However, sometimes it’s very difficult to get yourself out of the bed. That’s tips work for me perfectly. And what works for you?
